Public Works

The Public Works Department is generally responsible for constructing, operating and maintaining the Town's public works infrastructure including sanitary and storm sewer, municipal drains and roads. The Department also provides the community with waste management programs, garbage collection and disposal, recycling and yard waste collections, street sanitation, litter control and winter control activities. In addition the Public Works Department maintains the parks and recreational facilities as well as the many buildings and facilities owned and operated by the Town.
 

• Road maintenance which includes snow removal and street repair and improvements
• Maintain storm water system including sewers and municipal drains
• Maintain sanitary sewer system and service connections to the property line
• Maintain water distribution system and service connections to the property line
• Maintain street signs and traffic signals in conjunction with Essex Power Services
• Parks maintenance including grass cutting
• Building maintenance
• Tree planting and maintenance
• Equipment maintenance including recreational and playground equipment
• Town Beautification, which includes Hanging Flower Baskets, Christmas Lights, etc.
