Amherstburg Accessibility Advisory Committe

The Amherstburg Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAAC) was established in early 2002 as a result of requirements from the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA), which came into effect on December 14, 2001. The Committee is an advisory committee that makes recommendations to Town Council on various municipal policies, programs and services. The Committee also works to identify, remove and prevent barriers faced by persons with disabilities.

The Committee meets monthly and all meetings are open to the public. For more detailed information about the annual Accessibility Plan or Committee, please contact Brenda Percy, Clerk’s Department at 519-736-0012 or at bpercy@amherstburg.ca

AMHERSTBURG ACCESSIBILITY PLAN

As part of the legislation, each year the Amherstburg Accessibility Advisory Committee updates the Accessibility Plan to provide current barriers identified to persons with disabilities and to plan for the removal of those barriers.
